Shotgun Messiah

Shotgun Messiah

Metal Hammer

I can just imagine the painted picture this lot present. “Bop City” for starters – a familiar title with lyrics as banal as anticipated. But, try blanking out the awful non-vocal screams and there’s some pretty damn fine rockin’ largely characterised by shout-it-out-loud choruses. I find ‘Shotgun Messiah’ to be gonzoid and “Squeezin’ Teazin” is enough to send me running for intellectual stimulation! However, before I claim this band are going nowhere I should delve deeper into their instrumental elements.

Throughout there is a wealth of “Vaieuristic” wizardry. Instrumental “the Explorer” in particular showcases a talent worthy of more their glam raock posturing. “Don’t Care ‘Bout Nothin” voices its raised fist protests via some excellent heavy duty riffs and runs over a thunderous drum track. A potentially breath-taking band – provided they ditch both the image and the singer. Tigertailz are safe in their position as MFN’s premier glamour pussies.
